PSO 1. Describe the evolution of disability social work (DSW). |
PSO 2. Demonstrate the awareness and understanding of the varied human bio-psycho-social perspectives in understanding disability within their varied contexts and environments. |
PSO 3. Interpret the concepts and epidemiological aspects of various types of disabilities. |
PSO 4. Combine the knowledge and skills on different management techniques inclusive of counseling, team work, communication and leadership skills in the practice of community and human service organizations, Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) and in other areas of disability social work. |
PSO 5. Classify the complexities of social realities among persons with disability (PwD’s) including vulnerable groups, their families and the range of related issues in their systemic and structural contexts. |
PSO 6. Compare various approaches of disability social work and identify the principles of disability social work to work along PwD’s and their families across different individual, group and community settings. |
PSO 7. Qualify to be self-aware, to innovate and to evolve an anti-oppressive empowerment based micro, meso and macro partnership practice for PwD’s and various stakeholders. |
PSO 8. Recommend on the various legal, human rights, legislations and policies for PwD’s and their families. |
PSO 9. Compose and modify plans to solve the emerging ethical issues in disability social work (DSW) practice and research. |
PSO 10 – Formulate robust research proposals in the area of DSW and conduct field research for the well-being and empowerment of persons with disabilities. |
Masters Programme in Psychology (PSO) |
PSO1. Masters programme in psychology focus is to deepen students comprehensive knowledge in foundation concepts and theories in cognitive, affective, genetic, physiological, neuropsychological and behavioural sciences. |
PSO2.The programme prepares the students with skills for evaluating literature sources, critical thinking and making them scientifically minded. They will learn to make appropriate techniques to identify and answer research questions. |
PSO3.Demonstrate psychological literacy. |
PSO4.They can formulate plausible explanations about issues in the psychological process or mental health in question. |
PSO5.The Master’s program in psychology will help them engage in innovative and integrative applications to solve problems. |
PSO6.The students will be able to sensibly incorporate the socio-cultural perspective in their professional interventions and research. |
PSO7.Another hallmark of the program is to make the students behave following the ethical standards of the discipline, make them defensible for ethical decisions, personal integrity and interpersonal effectiveness. |
PSO8.The programme equips them to demonstrate competence in written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills in multiple formats and contexts. |
PSO9.The programme envisages the students to be knowledgeable in their respective subjects (clinical psychology, forensic psychology, counseling, cognitive neuroscience, and personality and social psychology) and develop as skilled individuals in appropriate professional areas. |
PSO10.They should exhibit continuous self-reflection and self-regulation in the context of professional work, refined project management skills, as well as observe professional workforce standards. |
